Aircraft
painting is a science that is blended with artistry
that only comes from the most creative minds. Not a
simple task. From single engine piston aircraft to corporate
turboprops and jets we have been applying high quality
paint finishes for more than fifteen years.
At Av Source, we don't overlook the basics that create
a long lasting paint job. We start with a complete strip
of the old paint from the airframe. After removing the
old paint and preparing the aluminum, it is acid etched
to get a deep cleaning of the surface, followed by an
alodine conversion coating to promote excellent paint
adhesion and corrosion control.
Once
the aircraft is properly prepared, an epoxy corrosion
control primer coat is applied. Before applying the
Jet Glo base color in a deep glossy finish, the primer
is given a thorough inspection and light sanding to
smooth it prior to painting. The base color is allowed
to cure before applying the paint scheme designed using
our computer graphics software. Striping is painted
on the aircraft and detailed for sharp stripe edges
and clean rivet lines.
Final
detailing and installation of proper placards and optional
items such as stainless fasteners and CamLocs complete
our paint package.
